Sensei Rich is a long time Santa Clarita Resident. He Moved here in 1985 with his wife Beth and family. They Have been married for 24 years. They met at the University of Arizona in 1979 and were married in 1983. They have three sons Matt, Adam and Jake. In 1985 he earned his law degre from California Western School of Law in San Diego California. Sensei Weiner concentrates his practice of law in the area of business law.

He is active in Synagogue (Congregation Beth Shalom of the Santa Clarita Valley) He is a past president and is currently on the board of trustees.

Sensei Weiner has been practicing and teaching Judo for over 41 years, and is a Sandan in Judo(3rd Degree. He started Judo at age 6(1966) under Sensei William Maughn at Thunderbird School of Judo in Scottsdale Arizona. He has been a member of Rendokan Dojo in Tucson Ariza (Sensei Ken Carson) and practiced at the Naval Training Base in San Diego California. He joined Santa Clarita Judo in 1986, after the retirement of Sensei Linda Hitzman in 1995 he took over running of the club and has been the head instructor ever since.
